January 2010: ImageFast advise customers of the End of Life for Kofax Ascent Capture 7.x versions

ImageFast Ltd, leading information management consultancy and Kofax partner, are advising customers that Kofax have recently announced the End of Life for Ascent Capture 7.x versions.

This is due to the release of Ascent Capture 9 in the first quarter of 2010.

The 7.x product will be supported until March 2011; however Kofax will not accept orders for additional licences purchased for a 7.x environment after 31st march 2010. Providing customers have valid maintenance on their Kofax products they will be entitled to upgrade to version 8 or 9.

Available Options:

For customers considering expanding their Kofax environment within the next 12 months;

- Purchase additional licences for your 7.5 environment before 31st March 2010, which can then be upgraded to version 8 or 9 at a later date
or

- Perform an upgrade, then purchase licences for version 8 or 9.

(NOTE: Configurations between versions may differ slightly due to changes to the licensing model)

For both of the scenarios above, ImageFast are more than willing to discuss the options and potential costs of additional licences.

We recommend that, for customers not looking to expand their Kofax infrastructure, an upgrade should still be considered before March 2011.
